Passion

The Lebanese American artist and author Khalil Gibran, wrote in his book The Prophet, ”Among the hills, when you sit in the cool shade of the white poplars, sharing the peace and serenity of distant fields and meadows — then let your heart say in silence, ‘God rests in reason.”And when the storm comes, and the mighty wind shakes the forest, and thunder and lightning proclaim the majesty of the sky — then let your heart say in awe, ‘God moves in passion.’ And since you are a breath in God’s sphere, and a leaf in God’s forest, you too should rest in reason and move in passion.” Without passion there is no feeling, and without feeling, there is no directional bearing to tell us where to go in life.

    I like…. a whole lot! Keep it up – you’re a step above!

  2. i’m not entirely sure of how i stumbled upon this website. sometimes things just happen i guess. you are a complete inspiration in every sense of the word. i once considered myself a photographer, not quite to this scale but it was enough. much to my dismay things got in the way. life got in the way, and my “little hobby” faded out of my life as do so many other things. i thank you for giving me the inspiration to pick my camera up and to continue doing what i love. thank you, brandon.

  3. i was ambling my way through the web as dox stalkers such as myself do, when i happened across your corner of the digital world. as the first line of code tripped cross the screen , i had one of those sorts of epiphany “me likey” moments that fill my beeper existence to the brim with intrigue. im gonna rant nao, tl;dr pep-talk style.

like it or not, you’re exceptional. never stop striving for moral perfection. i don’t care if you have to experience multiple existential crises with the help of trauma, travel, or even something like r/atheism’s FAQ page. never settle, never stop, never become what i like to call lacking of the luster.

keep seeking truth, keep creating Art, keep experiencing life to the absolute fullest. do not be meek. STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT. tolerance of intolerance is cowardice.

my tryst with political science has taught me that ideological movements tend to hold people back from reality. whatever you do, do not let yourself be swept up in this pattern of complacent ignorance and double-thinking naivete. evar read 1984? pretty legit shenanigans occur in that book. you should prolly read that now: if you already hav, read it again.

DO NOT BE AVERAGE. if you’re average, you might as well be someone else. you might as well not exist. you might as well go out back behind the tool-shed and give your Beretta a blowjob, which is silly because you know how the Glock is superior. if you let yourself be caught in a wave of convention, you’re useless. if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. and although there are not as many people as i’d like at the fringe of the bell-curve, you could totally be one. you could be a bulwark standing proud against the injustice. doesn’t that sound epic? its actually not that fun generally speaking, but since when has being good have anything to do with glory?

i don’t know you and prolly never will and that is beautiful. we shall live and die and none of it is related and that is strangely comforting, oddly close to the heart. learn from everything, take the best of it and leave the rest. improve, improve, improve. learn, grow, expand. do not become obsolete. don’t step away from the world.

hope you have a good life.

    CARRY ON.
